This project was the proposed renovation of a 300 ft2 basement in the Capitol Hill neighborhood of Washington, DC. The owner had just renovated the home above as a rental and wanted to use this space as a convenient “hotel room” when in town on business. The existing concrete floors were to be ground and diamond polished to resemble terrazo. A small kitchenette and bathroom were added along with storage that wrapped around an existing brick chimney foundation wall.
